FOBIA members Sandy Novacek and Joanne Jackson appeared before Detroit
City Council on March 23 and March 24 to present a progress report for FOBIA
for the last four weeks. The report covered accomplishments, obstacles and
possible solutions.
On Thursday March 24 the Council
passed a
resolution advising the City
Administration that the Council desires the Belle Isle Aquarium to remain
open until July 1, 2005 to help give adequate time to raise funds, and to
compile a strategy that may ensure the continued operation of the Belle Isle
Aquarium. The Mayor has seven days to respond.
