The city is worthless. I hope the entire country realizes what a garbage dump this city is. |

They could not keep the aquarium open due to money problems, but they would not give up their delievered water. It was like they took the water from the fish for themselves.Kilpatrick was about to go on a cruise also on the taxpayer,s money untill he was busted! It is good to be king! This mayor,if you want to call him that, is a crackpot!! |

The mayor and the City are two different things. This is a great city in the hands of Fools, no one denys that as a fact. "Ceasars come and go, Rome never dies" |

What makes the Detroit great? It is not just the mayor. What about the City Counsel and their corruption? What about Lorenzo Bates and his corruption. What about Gary Hart and his corruption? What about Coleman Young and his corruption? This is just to name a few. What about the horrible schools available to our children? What about the 42% drop out rate in schools? Or the decaying buildings? What about the Federal Government running our police departemt because of it's corruption. Detroit is sued more than any other city and is basically in receivership? What about citizens needing to walk their children to school because it is unsafe. Or the fact that we have to rely on volunteers to ensure the city doesn't burn down during Halloween. WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT DETROIT!!?? You have to be kidding me. Detroit is a "great city"? There are no supermarkets or hotels. I'm sorry, I don't share your opinion that Detroit is a great city. I agree with Micah, the City of Detroit is a piece of trash. Which by the way is a statement of the way the city has been run and not a reflection of the citizens of Detroit. |

It is sad Detroit is so bad off.Yet earlier when i mentioned how unsafe it was to go to the belle isle, everybody said I was crazy. Detroit was beautiful back in the 30's/40's,but it started downhill from there. The race riots did not help. People started to be afraid to go downtown.Others started to move out from there. No parent wants to raise their children in that enivorment.Nobody tried to stop it.Now Kilpatrick wants to layoff all those firemen and policmen. I see trouble brewing over that, especially next year.Maybe he should keep them instead of buying all those palm trees for the beach. what is that all about. I thought we lived in Michigan, not Florida. |

I have to ask: Why are you here? If you think Detroit is such crap then leave here If you think that the aquarium can be saved from the savages then leave, We care not for your support and do not even care for you to be around unless you care enough to change what is happening in our city. Belle Isle is a jewel to be protected and fought for, either do so or shut the hell up and go somewhere else, your opinion is pointless without action intended on making a change.
