I knew the aquarium was a beautiful architectural specimen. I was really surprised to find out the famous archtect Albert Kahn designed it. Can the American Institute of Architects and Lawrence Tech. get on board to save the aquarium designed by one of their own. We have our own branch of AIA in Detroit. Help! Remember most cities have Architectural Wonders! The Super Bowl is coming and this aquarium would give all the visitors especially the children one more reason to appreciate the city of Detroit. |

Susie, you're right. The word "Kahn" should be enough to salvage this architectual jewel. Has anyone thought of perhaps some aid from the Ford family.. Bill Ford? Also, agree the Super Bowl spectators may want a brief look-see at our "Grande Dame" aquarium. A little salesmanship and enthusiasm helps. If they have agendas for their stay here in Detroit why not add a visit to our aquarium along with the restaurant, night club, casino, mall, and sundry visits ? Susie, I wrote some e-mails to FOBIA in January when I was "hot under the collar". I expected to be picked up and held in detention somewhere. At the time, I knew not much about the issues and real problems. I'm hoping that "majority" matters and counts in this upsetting scenerio. |
